Over
the last several years, Mike Cadó has been involved
in several musical projects. In addition to his work with
The Mike Cadó Tentet, MC & Company, and Sherie
Marshall, Mike also leads his own Blues combo that performs
a wide range of material from the blues repertoire including
the music of Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, B.B. King, Eric
Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Robert Cray. The group has
performed at numerous blues venues throughout Toronto and
various blues and jazz festivals including The Toronto Downtown
Jazz Festival and The Barrie Jazz and Blues Festival. The
group consists of Mike Cadó – Guitar/Vocals,
George Christie
– Keyboards, Sandro Tersigni – Bass, and Rob
Fraccaro
– Drums. Occasionally, blues harmonica sensation Ken
Yoshioka joins the group as well.
In
addition to being an accomplished performer, Mike Cadó
is also a talented arranger and composer. He has arranged
and composed for various musical settings including film,
small to large popular music groups and jazz ensembles. Recently,
Mike has composed several large-scale extended works for modern
Jazz Orchestra that explore various 20th-century compositional
techniques fused with contemporary jazz and improvisational
elements. |
